For the Beeb’s second visit to us, actress Celia Johnson and singer Rod McKuen shared their personal choices of poetry and prose.

Ted Hanson was the local “Banbury Guardian” theatre critic and, while becoming good friends with us, could still be stern with any shortcomings he might spot in our performances. The other two aimiable critics during our time were Graham Wilton (Banbury Advertiser, later to become the Banbury Cake) and Gerry Steer (Banbury Cake)
