The programme for this show is unique: authored by a now-forgotten humorous scribe it gives the theatre’s history to date, thumbnails of the participating actors, and a list of past productions. No other programme followed this exact format (for better or worse!) although a couple of future ones would carry – usually visiting – cast thumbnails.
A wonderfully light comedy, the action of the play takes place in the lounge of the Cadwalladers’ week-end cottage outside London and features a permissive youth, a father and son who cannot communicate, and a wife whose ex-fiancé is still around after 20 years of marriage. What could possibly go wrong?
